We have a 99 Dodge Avenger that runs great. Sometimes the security system won't turn off with the key in passenger side lock or with drivers side lock button. This prevents the car from starting. Sometimes if we wait quite a while ,it'll start. Can the "security system" be disconnected alone or is it tied into other power units?( as we were told).Any CHEAP fixes? l

im not aware of any easy way to disable it but i would imagine if you jumped the door unlock switch wires this would always tell the security system that the car is unlocked and therefore not arm system.
