My car makes a grinding noise when the car is in neutral. When the car is stationary and you push in the clutch the noise goes away. But when I'm driving and I have the clutch pushed in I can still hear the noise at times.
It seems to shift fine while driving and after it warms up the noise goes a way.
I bought a used transmission to replace it. But I am hesitant to change it because I was told if the clutch is in pushed in and I still hear the noise the problem is engine related.
What do you think?
