1996 Dodge Avenger 96 Avenger Kicks out of gear.

My daughters 96 Avenger keeps kicking out of 5th gear. Any ideas?

I am sorry but every time a repair order said "jumps out of gear" it was always a problem inside the gear box. I never saw it repaired in any other way. I'm sure you have already made sure the transmission has proper oil and proper amount already. If you do get it fixed, use a new Mitsubishi clutch and bearing. Thank-you for reading my 2 cents. Joe

Welcome. Always go with a Mitsubishi clutch, I don, t know why, it just operated smooth and lasted longer. New ones came in weekly, with new clutches. Had to be replaced. Too bad. But good your ok. Joe
