My 96 avenger es sport 2.5 litre v6 over heats I replaced the thermostat and rad cap and upper rad hose and still overheats coolant stays in the overflow tank and doesnt seem to leave it I believe it may have to do with my manifold I believe there is a crack is this possible? Can I weld the v6 manifold? Why does it constanly overheat?

Hi:
If you replaced the t-stat and it still overheats, have you considered flushing the radiator and engine block? That would be my recommendation. Why do you think there is a crack in the manifold? Is it leaking? To have it welded, (If in a location that can be repaired) would require someone who can weld aluminum. Also, check to make sure the head gasket isn't leaking. The rear ones have a reputation of leaking on the passanger side rear.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
