1995 Dodge Avenger Smells like Gas when Driving

1995 Dodge Avenger 6 cyl Automatic 160526 miles

Hello,
I just got my car back from the shop since it has been having stalling problems on and off for about 2 years. They just did the fuel pump relay the other day. Is it normal to smell gas when driving? I've never had that problem before. Is it dangerous to drive? Need to go get groceries and don't feel like walking in this Florida heat.

No its not normal but if you're not actually leaking gas its okay to drive however it could be running too rich or you have a problem within the Evaporative control system
