my girlfriends '95 avenger had a complete shutdown in the middle of the road a few days ago, and now it wont start, it just makes a high pitched whining sound when you turn the key. the battery is fine, all of the electrical systems work, but it wont turn over at all. the oil was just changed about a month ago but when it shut down she smelled burning oil. i've talked to my dad and he said to drain the oil pan and check for metal shavings in case someting wasnt getting lubricated enough. any other suggestions?
