My car stalled on the road yesterday. I tried to start it afterwards and it just turns over but does not start. I haven't checked it out to see if its getting spark or not. I'm thinking either the timing belt or fuel pump. what do you think? what type of troubleshooting should I do? Thank you Bob

i am thinking all three as possible, I WOULD LISTEN TO HEAR IF IT CRANKS FASTER THAN NORMAL, THEN CHECK FOR SPARK AND FUEL BY SPRAYING SOME FUEL OR CARB. CLEANER IN THE INTAKE THROUGHT CAREFULLY THOUGH. THE DISTRIBUTOR PICK-UP PLAtES FAILED OFTEN SO TRY JIGGLING THE WIRE FROM IT TOWARD the base of the distributror. IF THE DISTRIBUTOR IS NOT TURNING WHEN CRANKING IT MAY HAVE A WORN TIMING BELT. OK THE BELT IF IT GOES MAKES THE ENGINE TURN OVER VERY QUICKLY. sorry my caps key is bad.
