Do I need to support the engine when doing the lower mount?

I replaced the 2 upper motor mounts. I need to replace the bottom one now, but I wondered if I have to support the motor or not.

Hi,
There wasn't a V6 used in the focus. It should be either a 2.0L or a 2.3L 4-cylinder. Let me know what you have so I can determine the correct procedure for you.

Hi,
The manual shows the engine is supported. See pic below. You should be able to use a floor jack under the oil pan just to hold weight. Just make sure to put something like a 2x4 or 2x6 between the jack and pan to protect it.
