I have no A/C and the hot air will only blow through the defrost?

I need help figuring out how to replace the distribution box. I have no A/C and the hot air will only blow through the defrost. I removed the actuator to replace it, but the gears on the distribution box are stripped/broken.

It sounds like the Mode blend door actuator is out, here is how you can replace the unit in the diagrams below. I have also included a generic guide to help you see what you are in for with the repair.
