I'm wanting to switch my stereo with a aftermarket one and last time I disconnected the stereo I had to have it reprogrammed so it would start. I'm wanting the code so I can make sure I don't have to spend that again.

Hello TRAVIS BUTLER2,

Here is video on how to disable it if you would like:
https://youtu.be/7TuW8Rr_BUE?si=13vbTf6Ig-NXPQdJ

There may be an issue with the system or maybe you hit something when you were replacing the radio and caused it to not recognize the key anymore.

Here is a video on how to diagnose GM Passlock:
https://youtu.be/lZi3JP39Sb4?si=dHQrA5Z-eeeBA4XT

It also includes a manual method to relearn the key depending on the system.

If you want the code to reprogram the key after the radio is removed, then you will have to take your VIN to the dealer with proof of ownership and they can get the code for you or use a key reprogramming service.

However, they just don't give it out usually.

Let me know if you need different information. Unfortunately, Key Codes is something we don't have access to.

Also, if you still need help with the fan issue, let me know by replying to the other thread we have been working on.

Hope this helps.

Thank you,
Brendon
