Really having a hard time trying to figure out how to change my dimmer switch on my car it is the classic model, for the front headlights. And just want to know if I have to take the steering wheel off as well. I need this fixed before Monday peoples, single father, son has to be at school bright and early, lol. I appreciate your time and grace! "Respect"

Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove instrument panel lower trim and remove A/C duct extension at column.
Disconnect shift indicator from column and remove toe-plate cover screws.
Remove two nuts from instrument panel support bracket studs and lower steering column.
Remove dimmer switch retaining screws and the switch. Tape actuator rod to column and separate switch from rod.
Reverse procedure to install. To adjust switch, depress dimmer switch slightly and install a 3/32 inch twist drill to lock the switch to the body. Force switch upward to remove lash between switch and pivot, then remove tape from actuator rod. Remove twist drill and check for proper operation.
