The instrument cluster containing the odometer in my car listed above went blank. I need to find a used cluster from a salvage yard. To locate one that is approximately the same mileage, I need to use a small 12-volt battery to energize the display through the connector and light up the odometer in the salvage car to verify the mileage reading before purchasing. I bought one already, and it turns out it was about 100,000 miles less than what I need. What I don't know is which pins on the cluster plugs will energize the odometer.

Good call, you need to ground (-) the black wire to the cluster and then power the blk/yellow and yellow wires (+). That should power up the cluster. Let us know if you need anything else.
