Had the rear end replaced (differential) approx 3 weeks ago. Last week the car became 'unmanageable' on the hwy - steering with great difficulty and much grinding. Felt like the axle was coming off/apart. Had it towed to shop that replaced the rear end. Was advised it needed the front differential replace along with a bent tie rod and axle problems. - Repairs were made and then repair shop took it for a test drive and noted tht problems still persisted. - Shop owner discovered tht the wrong rear end had been used in the first repair - the 'ratio' was incorrect. MY QUESTION: is it likely that the incorrect rear differential (with the wrong ratio) caused the problem with the front diff.?

Yes they should have the same gear ratio otherwise it torques up the tcase and you have to back up to unload the tcase. Why didn't theyput the correct ratio in that is their problem for not checking so should be no costto you
