Differential fluid?

Hypoid Gear Oil LT 75W-85 GL-5 ..what I found ..
Though I see mostly synthetic 75w 90 ..

Hi:

The best would be exactly what the manufacturer recommends. I checked all model Tacoma trucks, and they all call for exactly what you said: LT75W-85 GL5. See pics below.

Certainly, a synthetic fluid will not hurt anything, but I do suggest going with the recommended weight.

Thanks..but whick type - ..synthetic or Hypoid? I see mobil 1 synthetic says 75 w 90 ..is thay ok vs recommended 75 w 85

I see redline has the Hypoid synthetic ..an Mobil 1 is just synthetic ..would redline be more better

Redline is a good product. However, your vehicle doesn't require hypoid oil. Hypoid gear oil is a specialized lubricant designed for gear shafts that don’t traditionally intersect, creating a combination of rolling and sliding contact. Regular gear oils can’t handle that type of abuse.

Your differential doesn't require it. It does require an LT-rated oil that is offered by Redline. Toyota's oil is a synthetic with a limited-slip additive in it.

I feel that will be fine. Again, Redline is a good product; you got the correct weight, and the friction modifier is in it. That sounds perfect.
