Differential fluid

Which type is best for my rear differential .I see different types Hyp ..I can't pronounce it ..type, an the synthetic type like redline an mobile 1 .I know the actual toyota ..dealer differential fluid is like 50 bucks a quart too .mobil 1 is 20. .I would like to get the proper type without busting the wallet .I think it takes a little over 3 quarts ..

Hypoid Gear Oil LT 75W-85 GL-5 ..what I found ..
Though I see mostly synthetic 75w 90 ..

Hi:

The best would be exactly what the manufacturer recommends. I checked all model Tacoma trucks, and they all call for exactly what you said: LT75W-85 GL5. See pics below.

Certainly, a synthetic fluid will not hurt anything, but I do suggest going with the recommended weight.

Thanks..but whick type - ..synthetic or Hypoid? I see mobil 1 synthetic says 75 w 90 ..is thay ok vs recommended 75 w 85

I see redline has the Hypoid synthetic ..an Mobil 1 is just synthetic ..would redline be more better
