Diesel engine is cranking when a little petrol is used to crank it, but not operating on diesel fuel

My car's diesel engine is cranking when a little petrol is used to crank it, after removing petrol when I again try to start the same with diesel fuel, it is not cranking.

Hello,

It sound like the injector pump has failed which is a common problem with that car. Please check it out and let us know what you find so it will help others.
