Engine shuts off while idling

Hi,

Have you checked to see if there is an engine vacuum leak? That can cause a stalling issue. Also, in 1989, these vehicles were made with either a carburetor or fuel injection. Which does the vehicle have?

Also, if possible, record what it does so I can see and hear what it does. That may help me as well.

If there was an air restriction, it could be the cause. It will cause the engine to run too rich.
