So we replaced only the driver side CV axle and lower ball joint while trying to remove the speed sensor to be able to fill the transmission fluid, however it got broken and now we are having issues with it catching gears when we try to shift or going into gear or popping itself back out of gear and backfiring, some mild grinding and clunking noises also just started.

Is this all caused by the speed sensor being broken? Or could it be another problem too?

And the car is pulling to the right significantly, Is that due to only having one ball joint replaced?

Good morning,

The broken sensor is part of the issue but no all the issue. Did you replace the sensor?

You need to recheck your work on the axle and make sure the inner joint is seated. If it is not, it comes out just enough to cause grinding and the transmission will not engage.

The hard pull. You should get the car aligned. Whenever you replace front end parts, you need to have a front end alignment performed.

I have a manual transmission not an automatic and as of this moment I can't shift it into 1, 2 and R at all only 4 and 5 gears, and I don't know how to tell if we seated it in all the way, aside from that it was working for a couple days, but also during that couple of days it wasn't pulling to the right at first and it's gotten worse along with the grinding and shifting issue. So I guess it could be, but I am not sure how to tell if it was done 100% right or not.

Sorry, if the car is popping out of gear while driving, that is internal. The synchronizers could be the failure of this issue. It has nothing to do with the sensor for this.

The sensor will affect the operation of the speedometer but nothing else.

Can you attach a picture of the broken sensor for me to view?

It's in the car again to be able to plug it so we could get to the store last night. But I'll go out and take pics of it as is in the car and then I'll remove it and take another.
