The car started fine on a cold evening, a few days back. I drove it around for 10 minutes and made a brief stop. When I tried to start the car again, it did not start. The windows, lights and radio were working fine. There was no clicking or cranking sound either, after turning the ignition on. Since it was late in the evening, I did not retry. It just stood there overnight. When I retried it the next morning, it started fine, as if there was no issue at all. The car worked fine for the next two days. Now, it seems to be showing the same symptoms. The car isn't starting again. I plan to retry starting it later today or tomorrow. Meanwhile, I would like to know the root-cause, so that I can get some knowledge about the issue. Thanks in advance!

The car started fine last night, after a gap of 6 hours. The problem may recur in the next few days. I am trying to find the root-cause of this issue and fix it.

Hi,

This sounds like an ignition switch is failing. If there is truly no clicking or cranking with turning the key then I would assume the ignition switch is not sending signal to the PCM to tell it to start the vehicle.

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell you exactly what this is because there are a number of causes. It could be a starter solenoid on the starter itself but we will need to do some testing while this is acting up.

Here is a video that takes you through some similar items but some of these are for a crank no start and your issue is called a no crank no start:

This is a guide that will give you more detail on a starter not working:

Let me know if anything sounds closest to your issue and we can dig further. Thanks
