I was using a wrench to snug up the oil filter, I had a bad angle and ended up denting the new oil filter. Can I remove the filter and replace it without draining the new oil I just put in? Thanks.

Your new oil will not run uphill and drain out when the filter is removed. Regardless, you do not have to replace the filter just because it's dented. They get dented on some car models just from squeezing them in where the engineers didn't bother to leave enough room for the task. As long as you didn't puncture the cover and it doesn't leak, leave it alone.
