Hesitates when accelerating

Good morning, I am working with vehicle that sometimes experience delay when accelerating, I scanned the vehicle last month, it displayed some codes, I replaced the two front wheel sensors and cleared the codes from it's memory. It seems to function properly since then. The same problem with similar codes appears again, I don't want to replace the sensor because it is not quite long that I did that or am I doing the wrong thing?

Hi,

Everything is pointing to the sensors. Are these the same ones you replaced? Also, if you run live data, what speeds is each wheel showing or are they showing an RPM signal at all?

Yes, I replaced the front sensors (left and right). Is the wheel speed sensor not the same as rpm sensor?

Hi,

It's the same thing. Have you checked to see if there is a signal from each wheel when the vehicle is moving? Also, if there is, are they equal in speed?

Is there any way for someone to test the sensor without connecting it the system to check if it is functioning or not?

Hi,

Live data is retrieved via a scan tool. It shows voltages, signals, and so on when the vehicle is running. On these vehicles, you can set the scan tool to read each of the wheel speeds to compare if they are showing the correct speed, all the same speed, or if there is no signal from any of the sensors.

As far as checking wheel speed sensors, you can check them without a scan tool. Here is a link that explains how it is done:

You will need a volt meter or a multi-meter. Remember, you are checking for an AC current not a DC, so make sure you have the meter set correctly.

Good morning, checking the sensor manually, it seems that there will be need to suspend the two front wheels for front wheel drive, the two rear wheels for rear wheel drive (if test is to be carried out on the any of the wheels) and suspend the whole vehicle for "all wheel drive" so that the wheels can rotate easily during the test.
