Can you still select floor and dash but not defrost or is it stuck on floor or dash and doesn't change? Do you have the automatic control system or the manual unit?

Item one in the picture is the mode door actuator. It drives the doors that select where the air comes out. It has a plastic cam and levers that move the doors depending on what you select. The cams crack and the levers can break. To get to it to test or replace them you need to remove the entire dash assembly as the mode actuator is on top of the HVAC unit and cannot be reached another way.
