I tried starting my vehicle (Bakkie) this morning, it gave one crank and went completely blank, no sound when turning on the ignition. The fuel pump does not come on, no dash lights, nothing. The battery is a week old and the starter as well.

Check the battery connections. Loose or failed connections could easily cause this. Being that the starter and battery were just changed it is the first place to check. Be sure to check at both ends of the cables.

Thanks. Seems like there is a problem with a wire somewhere. Will take it to an auto mechanic to get it sorted.

It is possible that it is a simple connection but it is also possible it is a break in the harness. I suggested the battery connections because I ha've seen them fail inside the plastic and work fine until they were moved. Keep us informed of what is found please.
