Daylight sensor

Are any other components run through the daylight sensor or are the headlights the only circuit? can i put a piece of tape over it?

The headlights are the only thing on there. I do the same to my cars, otherwise people for some reason don't see me coming, even though I'm driving a 4,000lb SUV.
