I had to replace the 16 pin connector and after paying for the correct wiring code I took it in for a smog test and they couldn't get anything at the connector. I checked the connector and the wires are in the correct positions. I checked the fuses in the fuse panel inside the drivers area and the main fuse panel in the engine compartment and they are good. When I was changing the plug I did get a spark when I was removing the damaged connector. Any ideas as to why data is not being sent?

Hi,
Check to confirm there is power to pin 16 at all times. Next, confirm continuity to ground at pin 4.

If you got a spark the PCM could be bad or you popped a fuse (there are 3 that run the ALDL). To be sure here is a guide to help test the wiring and the ALDL connector wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works:
