Every once in a while during driving, the ABS warning light appears at the same time the Emergency Brake warning light appears. They disappear on shut down, and most often don't reappear for days - sometimes weeks. I've recently had a complete brake overhaul making me sure my brake system is in good working order.

Good afternoon,

You have a fault stored in the ABS system. It could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor but we need the code to be sure.

It sounds like you may have a wheel speed sensor that is out. These videos will help us find the problem.

Please run down these guides and report back.

You can go to a parts store and they will read the code for free.

It has nothing to do with the mechanical side of the brakes.

Last month I visited a Chevrolet dealer for an oil change; they checked for codes and got nothing. I'm mystified by this issue.

That was last month and this is now.

You need to have them checked at a parts store. If they cannot read the ABS codes, then you will need a shop that can access the ABS system and check history codes.
