Dash warning for gas cap

I already replaced the gas cap with a new one, but the warning light still on. A friend said something about a vent on the gas tank " tricking " sensor into indicating gas cap is still culprit.

The gas cap is only one possible cause of that codes. The issue is that the tank system is not sealed good and it's failing the leak test. What they have to do to find the leak is a smoke test.
