Dash goes black at start

When I press brake to start car dash goes black then comes back on when pressing accessory button, won’t turn dash light off. message on dash says shift to park.

I think it would help get us on the same page if you get a video of what you are seeing so that we can see what this is doing.

I am confused if the vehicle actually starts or not. This sounds like a possible shifter issue but seeing the issue will really help us figure this out. Thanks
