Hello and thank you.

I am in Mexico with a Honda Pilot, 2005. I manage a property that has this suv. It is reported to me that the dashboard lights are not working and now the tail lights are not working. I brought it to an electrical mechanic and have been told that it is the directional and lights shift (arm). The mechanic wants to change it, but it is almost $200 usd and I don't know if this will solve the problem. Any advice? Greatly appreciated.

Check your fuses first and bulbs in back but fuse controls both. I think he is just guessing on the problem.

Thanks

already have checked these and because the problem comes and goes, this is not it.

The mechanic tells me it is the directional arm that needs to be changed.

I had a price quote on the wrong part. I will contact the HONDA dealership in Playa del Carmen for the proper part.

Has there been a problem with this on other Hondas?

Hope you are having a nice day!

See if the taillights get power if they do then check the ground. It could be the switch but try all the easy things first. It also could be a wire that is rubbing against something in the steering column. But if a guy already checked it then it's probably the switch an dit's not to bad here in Michigan, it only rained for a short while and the sun is finally coming out aand it's 48 degrees lol. Supposed to be in 70's next week finally lol.
