Transmission problem
2000 Ssangyong Musso 320 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 188000 kilometers

I own a Ssangyong Musso 320 Auto. Problem started 6 months ago. When going uphill, (sometimes) gearbox oil will leak from I guess the breather and cause smoking. When towing a caravan, the transmission oil does the same. No problem with gear shifting. Why does the oil get so hot and thin? AFT II oil. When doing steep climbs with caravan, engine gets hot. Any suggestions.?

Hi there,

It is a good idea to have an additional trans oil cooler fitted, as the towing adds extra stress to the auto, look into this first.
