So I bought this car and needed to replace an idler pulley, replaced the pulley and made sure there was no valve damage as the timing belt never snapped. Replaced the timing belt and put back in time. When trying to start the car, it turns over but does not fire. I bought some car starter fluid and sprayed it into the throttle body and got it to almost fire. After attempting 3 times or so I noticed a little smoke coming from the timing belt. It appears that oil is escaping from the intake cam gear, dont know why or how it would leak from there. Any assistance would be much appreciated, just trying to see this baby purr. Thanks

Hi there,

The cams have seals so one is faulty, as for the no start, I would start with having a scan done to check for any codes, and I would be re checking the valve timing and compressions, check for spark injection pulse and fuel pressure, start here.
