as I was driving, the engine just stopped. I coasted it into a garage and the repair guy said that the timing belt broke and with what he read about Daewoos when the belt breaks it bends up the valves and in order to fix the damage it would be around 2,000.00! He is going by sound and experience BUT not by taking it apart and looking. Does it sound resonable what he is saying is true?

9 times out of 10 the valves do bend .. and the vehicle sounds different when cranking .. I would advise a strip down of the engine to be sure !
