I having trouble finding out my exact problem. I start my car up and it runs kind of rough (shaky) in idle, then I see a flashing check engine light on my dashboard. Then it will illuminate solid and stay on. I went to AutoZone for the codes and it read all six cylinders are misfiring. I do not know why or what cause that to happen. Also sometimes I see more than usual clear or grey smoke coming out the exhaust pipes too! Any knowledge or suggestions?

HI and thanks for using 2CarPros.

If you are seeing an excessive amount of white smoke from the exhaust, that is a concern. Often times, that indicates coolant is being burned in the combustion chamber. This is usually the result of a failed head gasket. Check to see if the coolant level is low.

First, take a look through this link. It discusses excessive smoke from the exhaust and causes. It shows pictures, so you can compare them to what you are seeing.

Take a look through this link. It discusses ways to determine if there is a head gasket problem.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions or if you feel this is not the problem.

Take care,
Joe
