Cylinder head swap?

I am trying to swap the cylinder head off of a 2007 PT cruiser under 2005 PT cruiser block also moving over if possible the sensors the intake manifold the exhaust manifold possibly the camshaft and timing gears but in 2006 there was Major electrical upgrade and I'm just wondering if that will affect swapping the heads over so I can use the existing harness and sensors to go with the current PCM of the 2005 because the wiring harness and PCM from the 2005 will not work with the 2007 motor and the 2007 harness won't work with the 2005 so I just want to know if I can swap the sensors off of the 2005 head and intake onto the 2007 hea,d an intake and throttle body with no issues also camshafts if necessary

The short answer is no" they won't work becuase the electronic architecture changed in 2006 and the sensors wont fit the newer head only things that fit perfectly are the physical head itself and the manifolds and things all fit but not the electronics..its always easiest and best to just get the right head for it ...good luck hope this helps

Evan if you swap everything youl most like have conflicts that cast cods and keep turning on the check eng light
Depending on what state you live in it might not pass and emissiins test ..good luck

Acually scratch that I looks like if you swap everything there only a few thing that would fold your efforts

1 they have the both be turb or non turbo heads of coarse

And to answer your question about the cams the answer happens ti be ..yes" the o5 cams will fit ..but if you newer he'd has better cams woth it i might be best to use them but then youl ne to swap the tone ring for the cam sensors from the 05 to the 07 cams as far as i can tell though everything else should be fine if youre sure to use all the things from the 05 ..sounds like a good project enjoy hope this helps

Am I able to then put the old settings complete motor into the 05 and run the 05 wiring harness and PCM and also switch over to 05 sensors to the 07 engine will it still work that way

Yes it should acually work you need to use everything from 05 on the 07 head apparently it will work ..if you use the cams from the o7 that would be ok too but only if you use yhe reduction ring from the 05 on the o7 cams..thats the only difference .. but you can just use the 05 cams in the 07 head too

I swap the whole engine but now doesn't matter if I'm in drive neutral park reverse the transmissions engaged to drive no matter what position the shifters in
