I am doing a coolant flush and, according to the Chilton book, one step is to drain the engine block. However, I cannot find where the plugs are on either side of the block.

Is it even possible to drain the engine block? If so, where are the plugs?

Good afternoon.

On either side there is a plug at the bottom of the block you can remove. It is very small and most times it is blocked by something mounted on the block. It is in the middle from front to back.

If you remove the lower hose and have the thermostat out, it will drain majority of the block from that.
