CVT transmission slipping on take off

Test drove the car from a dealership. noticed a "slipping" after taking offf from a stop, Informed the dealer of the issue, their tech inspected it, TF was adequate. He said tthere was no slipping upon his test drive, i drove it again this afternoon and noticed no slipping.

I know about the CVT issues being common with thesse but is it something that persists? Is it bounf to fail? Is that just the way the car operates? And would you consider this a deal breaker or is it manageable?

They are a known failure item and once they start slipping they don't stop. The current repair method is to remove and replace the CVT because the way they are built you send the old one back as a core. Very few places will attempt to rebuild them because of the way they are built. Personally I will never own a vehicle with a CVT in it simply because of the high failure rate. The CVT works okay in a lightweight vehicle with a small engine, however anything else they are an almost guaranteed failure item.

Hi Choseph, we can help with that. Are you purchasing the vehicle and if you noticed a issue with the transmission? This sounds like you have or will have in the future issue do to Nissan CVT issues. you can have the dealer scan the system and transmission to verify if codes exist and have the dealer look into overheat in the solenoid system, they can see if there a issue. remember dealers offer after market warranties.
