Diagnosed a bad BCU?

The car listed above is at the dealership for CVT replacement, after the installation the car won't start. They diagnosed a bad BCU and say it's unrelated to the transmission swap. They drove the car into the repair shop with no problem, it seems implausible.

Hi,

Anything is possible, but it is odd that it would fail while they worked on the transmission. When you say it won't start, do you mean the starter won't engage or does it engage but the engine won't start?

Also, these vehicles came with or without an intelligent key. If you have one without an intelligent key, the body control module isn't part of the starter circuit. See pics 1 and 2 below. If it has an intelligent key, then the body control module is used.
