CV axle keeps breaking?

Pulled out of a parking lot the other day and my driver CV axle snapped in half (part closest to the transmission) replaced it and not even 1 hour later the new axle broke in the same spot. Both times there was a rapid thumping then after the axle broke the car was thrown into neutral and wouldn’t go into any gears. Did I just get a bad axle shaft or is there something bigger I should be looking for?

Has there been any suspension modifications? Also, has the car been in an accident? If not, then it sounds like you got a defective CV axle. Here is a generic guide to help you step by step with instructions in the diagrams below to show you how on your car:
