While removing the CV Axle about 2 quarts of transmission fluid came out with it?

I changed a CV Axle the other day. I did everything like it should be done. When I took the old Axle out of the transmission, about 2 quarts of transmission fluid came out with it. I am curious about why this happened. I never had this happen to me before.

Yes, the fluid level is above the seals, or the transmission fluid was over filled, here is how to add or check the fluid level once the car is back together. Check out the images (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

There was a super short dipstick on the transmission. I checked that but nothing showed on it. The owner found on you tube where there is a bolt on the top side of the transmission to add the fluid so that's where I added it. It looked like a sealed transmission to me.

Did you see the drain plug level indicator on the side of the transmission I noted in the images above?

No, I did not see anything like that anywhere on the transmission. That is the first time I changed a CV axle and transmission fluid spewed out like it did. I guess it was over filled with fluid.

It sounds like it was, the level plug is on the driver's side, check out the images (below). Please let us know how it goes.
