Cuts all power to the vehicle and switches off?

Hi good people. I need help with my Corsa utility 2007 model. It tends to randomly cuts power to the bakkie completely. Dash lights switch off and the bakkie goes out. When I try to restart the bakkie, the ignition lights barley come on. After Jump starting it, it will run for a few minutes as soon as I try moving the bakkie in reverse or forward it cuts off again. It's happened a few times whilst parked to.

We don't have a manual on this vehicle as it is not offered here in the USA but it sounds like the battery and maybe the alternator has failed.

The fact that it needs to be jump started and it starts and run for a short time points to an electrical issue.
