My cruise control doesn’t work. The light on the button lights up but the dash light doesn’t work, nor does it set the cruise. I am trying to find the wiring diagram for the entire cruise control system including interior panel fuses and main panel fuses. Thanks

Hello,

See attached for the cruise control wiring schematics.

Here is a helpful guide on how to check wiring:

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Hi,

As far as the cruise control not working, it could be a few things. The fuses related to the circuit are in the under-hood fuse box. The system requires the body control module (BCM), transmission control module (TCM), and engine control module (ECM) to function.

If you look below, I attached the entire circuit related to the cruise control. It identifies the fuses, modules, and wiring color.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. Note: I had to cut the pic in half to make it readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

I was able to check all the fuses and they all seemed in good condition. Is there anything else I should check? I’ve seen that the brake light control module can go bad on these and cause that but my brake pedal has a lot of travel so I don’t know if that would affect anything?

When you say there is a lot of play in the brake pedal, do you mean it goes close to the floor when stopping? Also, are the brake lights working properly?

As far as the brake light control module, are you referring to the body control module?

I have a feeling the best thing we could do is scan the can-bus. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link showing how it's done:

Let me know.

It goes a couple inches and then feels like a normal brake pedal. I'm thinking there’s just air in the lines. All of the brake lights are working as they should. And I meant the little switch that tells the truck when the brake pedal moves from its resting position. I can try and check the CAN thing later. Thanks

Hi,

Are you referring to the brake lamp switch? I attached a pic below showing it.
