My car doesn't have cruise control switch lights on the steering wheel where the words are.Other cars i saw don't too.At night i couldn't see to turn cruise on.Is it normal not to have them?Just doesn't seem right so I got a light strip to Velcro by the emergency brake lever to see cruise control switches. Second question-Is it illegal to have those add on lights inside the car since i think its florescent? The lights are blue.

Looking at the wiring it looks like those lights were not even an optional item. I'm not sure if it's illegal in your area as the various states have differing laws. If it is a dim light and doesn't disturb your driving it might be okay. Although I would probably opt for a different color as human eyes are sensitive to blue and if it is reflecting around the interior it could be a distraction. To be sure you may want to look at your locations vehicle and traffic laws, and if you find it's legal, print the statute out and keep a copy in the car, just in case.
