I have been troubleshooting my cruise control for three months now and still do not have it working. On my van there are two switches; one on the dash that lights up when pushed and use to light up a button on the main dashboard lights section, and one on the wheel that is the set/resume.

Prior to the complete failure, the system would go out intermittently but the dash push button would still turn the "cruise" light on the actual button. That stopped, no lights what so ever when I pushed the master switch on the dash. I replaced the button and the new one lights up the button itself but nothing comes on on the dash that basically tells me "ready when you are".

I have replace the brake pedal switch with a brand new one and that did nothing. All of the fuses are fine, I even put in a couple of new ones just because I am getting old and blind and may have missed a spot. I tested the thing under the dash that has multiple pins and they all came back with the proper readings per specks, again, got another from u-pull-it just in case, still nothing so I put the old one back in. I have a new set/accel switch but have not put that in because I do not believe that is the problem. The dash light needs to come on indicating "ready when you are" and that is not happening. Therefore, using the set/accel is not yet relevant. I did pull the dash and made sure the dash light was not out so I know that the information to turn on is not getting to it.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, these cars had a problem with the clock spring behind the steering wheel losing connection to the cruise control, but to be sure here is a guide to help you test the wiring to confirm the issue:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

and if bad here is a guide and diagrams on how to do the job:

Check out the wiring diagrams so you can see how the cruise works (below). Please let us know what you find.

Cheers, Ken

From your description it sounds like the cruise control either is not getting a speed signal (vehicle has to be travelling over 25 mph for it to set) or the servo under the hood is failing and that is causing it to not operate. The attached is the test chart for the cruise unit under the dash, it however does not show if the unit is getting a speed signal. There are also a few transmission codes that can deactivate the cruise control but not activate the CEL. To see those you need a good scan tool that can read the transmission and the cruise control module and test it and the servo.

Thanks you guys! I am going to work this tomorrow with the information you have provided. I really appreciate it.
Just for my own knowledge, are the pictures and links specific to my 2002 Honda Odyssey or are they universal and are the same on all cars?
I will let you know what I find with the testing.

All the diagrams are specific to a 2002 Odyssey. The clock spring and wiring test are more generic.
