We replacement the buttons on the steering wheel approximately 4 years ago and everything worked great. About 9 months ago the cruise worked off and on, now not so. I checked the fuse, pulled it out and put it back in and it worked one time. Once in a while it works but mostly not. Any ideas?

The cruise control system comprises a few different components and if any of these fails, it affects the operations.
1. Steering switch
2. Brake switch.
3. Main ON/OFF switch.
4. Wiring circuit (connections)
5. Cruise control Control Module.
6. Power supply

Other system such as ABS or Transmission controls if they malfunctions can affect this too.
I would suggest a scan to check for trouble codes in engine, ABS and Transmission which can affect this.
