Cruise control installation

My truck does not have cruise control I am trying to add cruise control. can I buy just a switch and put it on and get it download for the cruise or do I have to change the whole steering wheel?

Hello and welcome to 2CarPros. Unfortunately it's a little more complex than that. There are dozens of wires, actuators, and servos involved. Also, you'd probably have to get another computer, as cruise control is run through a computer these days. Is it doable? Yes. Is it worth it? No. It'd cost thousands to get everything done. It would probably be cheaper to trade in your truck towards one that has it.
