After replacing the speed sensor, the cruise control light on the button turns on however, the dash light does not come on and the cruise control itself does not work.

Have it scanned for codes and check brake switch for staying on as well as fuses and ground for cruise. There are two speed switches that it operates off of counter-shaft and main speed switches. You may have to have it scanned for codes as well as it could be the cruise unit itself.
