Crankshaft pulley

I believe I just ruined my engine not knowing it. I put a new crankshaft pulley on and did not line it up with how the old one was and started it up. Just need to confirm this so I can start looking for something else.

If you loosened the crank pulley bolt without the holding tool installed then it is very possible that the camshaft drive pulley moved during the process. But you would be better off borrowing the tools and going through the process of aligning them and testing to be sure they did/did not move before you decide it is damaged.
Or did you hear it crash internally once you were finished or it now will not run?
