I changed the crankshaft position sensor already. At first it made no difference so we disconnected the battery and it was good for a day then back to bad and throwing code for crankshaft position sensor again

I took it into AutoZone and had them hook it up to the machine and did not get a print out so I don't know the code number

The code for my 2001 PT cruiser is P1391. Changed crankshaft position sensor-not fixed. Cleared coats using OBD scanner. Ran good for about a half day then back to bed and check engine light coming on again

The P1391 code does not specifically mean the new crankshaft position sensor is bad. On this Chrysler system, P1391 means the PCM is intermittently losing either the crankshaft position (CKP) signal or camshaft position (CMP) signal. I would replace the sensor pigtail and then clear the codes. Here is the part for $15

It is not bad, just align the wires with the new connectors and cut the wires to match them up. make sure the connectors are orientated the same. You can use crimp connecters, should work just fine. Let me know if you need my help.
