Crankshaft position sensor relearn

The engine has to run for the crank relearn. You must use a scan tool for this procedure. There is no other procedure at all.

Give me some background and tell me the issue you have at this moment.

Initially the starter went out and I replaced it and it ran about three days and it wouldn't start again so I was thinking either the starter solenoid or the ignition switch or wiring but I had a warranty on it so I traded it for another one and it hasn't started again! The second starter had warning papers about the new starters could make your PCM and crankshaft position sensor to be faulty. It took forever just to get the new starter to line with the flex-plate. Finally removed the solenoid and dust cover so I could make sure the teeth were perfectly gaped and angled now I'm at a crank no start and the only codes that come up are C0503, B1004, and U1304.

Okay, when you try to start it, is the theft light or security light on? It should go out after 10 seconds with the key on.

I attached a wiring diagram for the starting circuit. Can you do some testing with me for the system to find the fault?

I'll check so the fuses again but I'm pretty sure there wiring is so good because I replaced the old with new from the starter to battery, ignition wire and grounds to the body, motor and frame. C0503 says steering assist control solenoid low and the Delco part number that is given does not show up on their website and everything online says something about ABS left front wheel.

Okay, but none of that has to do with the starting.

Can you test for power to the relay so we can find the reason it is not starting?

Relays and fuses are all good. I checked where is a multi tester to make sure they would just opening and closing that they were actually good. Seems like my ignition timing is off. I don't know how it would have happened. plus it backfired while trying to crank it a couple times yesterday like it is advanced too much.

What were the powers to the relay? I need to know that voltage. We need to start somewhere and that is where we start.

I'll get you exact numbers as soon as I get back to the vehicle. I appreciate your help. Are you familiar with the gm starters causing there PCM to malfunction and not cause a code or engine light to come on.

The starter will not cause damage to the PCM. They are not connected in any way.

Got it.

Again, the crank sensor will not damage it either. As they stated if it is installed wrong, it will change the timing and that could, in turn, break the nose of the starter from kickback.
