Have the vehicle listed above AWD. Code for this crankshaft position sensor is active and was wondering can this bad sensor cause my transmission to not shift out of first gear and cause reverse to act weird?

Hello,

No. Your vehicle's Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) is used by the Power-train Control Module (PCM) to determine where the engine is in it's four stroke cycle and for the misfire monitor. Here is a link for you to go to:

The CKP has nothing to do with your transmission. Is your vehicle's Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or "check engine" lamp illuminated? Here is a link explaining how to pull Direct Trouble Code(s) from your vehicle:

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
