So, I have an issue where my SUV will crank but won't start. My fuel pressure seems to be running a little low at around 50 PSI but once it's running it stays running. The fuel pump was changed 6 months ago, fuel filter around same time. If I spray starting fluid in the air intake, then it'll start but it won't start otherwise. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have a defective fuel pump, can I ask if it is an AC Delco replacement? Here is how to change the pump correctly in the images below. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

I replaced the fuel pump with a Delphi fuel pump, and I only have issues with getting it to start up. Once running it runs great.

I have seen the fuel pressure regulator start leaking which can cause this problem as well. Please remove the vacuum line for the regulator to see if fuel is present if so, the part is bad and needs to be replaced.

Under upper intake manifold.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know how it goes
